See there?… something I didn’t think about. eek Aside from it looking good for a faux piece in an upstairs lining room next to a fireplace and clock.
Really though, (and this is a secret) there’s Narnian wood mixed in the luan veneer…and if you play just the right notes..(drinks don’t hurt either) you’re there! cool

Don't worry. Your secret is safe with me. No one else will know! wink

That's very neat. I thought I was doing good making a homemade stand for my P95.

My weely update.
So far, I think - good.

The riser post for the lid needs cut, the key drop cover and pedal rest post.
I was thinking of maybe a lyre for music in addition to the one in the pic which is the Casio lyre.
Then finishing, well I can’t decide sleek Black or wood grain.
(Still have a lot (some) plane-ing on the sides.)
Maybe a bench, and music file stand.
and hinges, pads , etc ...
I did add outbound speaker wires to the existing speakers by going in the cabinet, the onboard speakers continue to sound when attached to 2 L/R speakers instead of the headphones when playing which mutes the onboard speakers.
Also added red felt to the key edge from the Casio cabinet …don’t know if it’s viewable in the pics.
I might end up with adding a soundbar in the harp section.
and appreciate the encouragement I get here.

It's coming along, and thanks; ironically and as expected, the piano practicing is somewhat "in need ".
I'm practicing "Claire de Lune"..and it's going slowly, but I have a easy backup for the next recital. .
But the woodwork- well,I was thinking next a boat, or tear-drop trailer. But now that there'll be heat in the downstairs that I used for nothing... it 'll get (hopefully) some fixes through the winter.

So you can practice as long as you want and only moments have passed in this world?? Make me one!

My weekly ,,,faux piano reader… cool
Update.
Piano practice is lacking and this project is moving slow. cursing smokin
I have to prioritize over the next weeks, so that means avoiding the notice of detail and completing this piano shell project. .
I couldn’t decide on wood-grain stain or black.
I thought maybe one mistake in the wood and stain would look not so good, whereas paint may cover some grain or cut error,
So I choose black paint.
Hope it looks better after a buffing. (Some small buckling on sides)
(apart and being painted as the pic shows.)

I'm giving myself 2 weeks then moving it all upstairs, hinged and together.
Until inspiration hits again. thumb

And a little tiny inspiration-
This sheen on the top of the harp lid is what I'm aiming for when done, but more....

Almost finished shocked with this shell and make shift living-piano room, it seems every time I get it together I think of something else to change…..
Like repainting the shell or refinishing the keydrop….
It’s all faux/fake so I’m just going to get it all together …call it done.
….Someday confused cool .

Oh and that’s JS Bach in that background pic, poster –ized in a faux frame.
Wil retake this in better light when done.
It's all compact right at the moment....
