Had a few cracks on Chopin Op 74 no 2 now beginning to take a little shape ( sort of laugh ).

Probably the most accessible Chopin piece for beginners, not there is such thing as easy Chopin for beginners from what I can see, but it is grade 3 according to ABRSM.

Lovely piece indeed.

Selftaught since June 2014.
Books: Barratt classic piano course bk 1,2,3. Humphries Piano handbook, various...
Kawai CA78, Casio AP450 & software pianos.

After struggling through some fairly intense (for me) pieces - Liszt, Mendelssohn, Beethoven - I played Satie's relatively austere Gymnopedies. They remind me that you don't need to play 11 notes at once at the speed of light with complicated timings and impossible fingerings to be swept away by the music. Pared back, understated, simple, elegant, and hauntingly beautiful. It's a nice reminder. :-)

Hi Cathryn--
Thanks for the reminder that music does not need to be technically daunting to be beautiful. Samuel Barber's 'Adagio for Strings' is one that comes to my mind...
