Of the 3, the PX-560 is the one that interests me the most. What do you guys think? I really like the metallic blue color and the color touch screen. Also, the form factor is a bit different from the previous Privia ones. Still I'll be keeping my PX-5s. But a PX-5S with a color touch screen would be amazing!

Definitely a +1 to that color touch screen.

And they did actually implement SP-33 support.

They must be listening.

I wouldn't care for the speakers but I'm probably in the minority.

This looks very cool. Is it considered the successor to the PX-5S?

I don't think so. I would call it more "Pro" version of PX-350 but still not a match for PX5-S.

CASIO PRIVIA PX360 and 560

Also CGP-700 and CDP-130

I'm really curious about price points on these Privias. Will they be more or less the same as previous generations? Also the CGP-700 looks pretty nice as well. Looks like this generation of Privias mostly has the touch screen. I believe the only one that doesn't have it is the PX-160. It does look like a very modern design IMO.

Should breath some new life into the Casio DP lines and set them apart for the moment from the rest with that touch screen. But, we're all waiting to see how they improve the PX-5S after a few seasons of user feedback. Now THAT will be exciting.

The PX-560 is a PX-5 with added 17 track midi recorder and a touch screen interface. I believe that's why its blue. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't make a PX-6.

Like I said before, I don't think it's PX5S succesor. In some ways it's better:
- it has integrated speakers
- supports half-damping
- has expression pedal
- has score stand
In some ways it's worse:
- 3 knobs instead of 4
- no sliders
- it looks ugly in blue (at least on photos)
I also believe it has not PX5s editing features.

PX-5S is a giggers keyboard.
-speakers are a non issue nor even desirable
-half-damping is nice for solo piano
-expression pedal is one of the major requests
-score stand only applicable on some gigs. i like real stands with a light either way. but that's just me.

So good signs about a 5S revision.

Well, I should have written it has some more features. I don't consider integrated speakers to be pros by myself on stage piano. Rest are serious improvements. Shame there is no new piano sample.

That's pretty funny since you're comparing to the (ugliest DP) PX5S.

That is odd. I do find the PX-5S quite attractive and fashionable. Maybe that's the reason I like the PX-560 so much. It is so different from everything else. Plus I always get complimentsat chuch for how nice the PX-5S looks on stage.

So yes it can be edited and easier than the PX-5s by the looks of it.

I love having speakers in my DP. For one thing, the action feels a bit more realistic when picking up the sympathetic vibrations as happens on an acoustic... speakerless DPs feel a little "dead" by comparison. Second, when getting together for a little "unplugged" (no drums) rehearsal, just to work out parts or vocal harmonies etc., it's nice to be able to just put the thing on its stand, plug it in and play, and not have to also bring an amp (more to carry, probably an extra trip to the car, another power cord to run, two more cable connections to make). And at a wedding gig, internal speakers are often enough for me to play ceremony and/or cocktail hour with, with all those same benefits and much faster setup/knockdown, which also helps when you have to quickly move from cocktail hour to full band reception in the other room. I've had to compromise on this for other reasons, and haven't had speakers in my main DP in a long time, but I miss them. I would consider moving from my PX-5S to a new model, the speakers and the touch screen interface being the main appeal.

I was initially waiting for the PX-360, but the PX-560 with speakers has my interest. If they price this at $999 I'm sold.

Edit: Just saw the MSRPs... Privia PX-360M (MSRP: $1199.99) and PX-560M (MSRP: $1599.99)

Slab DP speakers get completely buried in a cocktail hour. Once the room is in chatter you can't even here yourself playing and if you crank them the vibration in the plastic can get buzzy, depending on build quality. Plus really poor representation of the low end/bass from these dinky speakers they're equipped with. Even an acoustic needs to be opened up in that environment. Outdoors a little different story.
