Oh, you can join late? Cool. Please count me in. I just got my DP six weeks ago or so, and have put in from 45 to 60 minutes a day. I'm re-starting after a false start at piano a few years back.

Many thanks for this inspiration to keep at it.

Frank

Thanks!!

I remember a while back there was a link to a site to log your practice time as well as view others'.
It was fun as some participants got a bit competitive!!

Marvelle- Glad you could join us! It is a fun group of dedicated players who do there best to play every single day and support each other to do the same. Happy playing!

Triyrche- I remember that site from a few years ago, but I think it is inactive now. MOYD has replaced it. This is more mutual support and less competition!

Thank you for the kind welcome SwissMS, and a large thank you for putting all the work into this group. There are some marvelously dedicated folks at Piano World.

The second half of April is not a good stretch of piano time for me.

I missed a couple of more days this past week due to vertigo issues, and though I practiced today, I found once again that practicing the same piece -- bwv 999 -- began to bring on another attack.

So weird -- a debilitating condition caused by playing Bach. I've often said that Bach would be the death of me, but I never imagined this.

Anyway, say that 4/28 and 5/1 were missed days for me. I'll miss a few more before I can get into see the specialist who will cure this blasted thing for me.

ClsscLib- I hope you get to the root cause of the vertigo problem soon. That sounds completely terrible. I always knew Bach was hard, but it sounds like he is truly messing with your brain! Best wishes for a speedy recovery from the vertigo issues!

I think in this case Bach is messing not with my brain, but with my inner ear instead! Thanks for the support, though.

It's time for me to check in with my tale of woe. I have a relative in the hospital, and we have been keeping a relative with him 7x24. Nurses are good but they just don't have time to do the little things that he needs. Staff is just stretched too thin to provide as much attention as he needs.

So, I've spent a huge amount of time with that and have missed the last 6 Saturdays. 3/28, 4/4, 4/11, 4/18, 4/25, 5/2.

I expect to miss more days in the future till this is over, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

oongawa - I am sorry to hear about your relative's illness. I hope things improve. I know such things are hard on the care givers. My thoughts are with you. I recorded yours excused dates.

I was away from home from May 1 to 4 with no access to a keyboard, but now I'm back to my daily 30 minute minimum.

Off for May 5, 6, 7 due to business travel.

Tomorrow I FINALLY get to see the earologist about my inner ear problem. If it is what I think it is, I expect to crawl into his office and dance out, forever cured.

In any case, I'll be back at the piano tomorrow, crawling or dancing.

Cheers!

I WANT TO JOOOOOOOOOOOOOOIN!

I've only had my 88-key piano for about 1.5 months (but ive been playing the keyboard for a year waaay before so I have some experience)

But I pledge to myself I will dedicate serious time everyday to study piano (even when I have classes)

I think this is a great way to force myself and avoid those excuses I make to demotivate myself.

Add me up here! (or am I too late?)
