The average typing speed is a little over 30 words per minute (one word is five characters), with some typos here and there.
I am curious to know what the speed of pianists are. When you take this test in your own language, what's your score?

60 WPM with zero errors if I'm reading what I have to type - something of a moderate speed. I'm perfectly okay with it.
If I don't have to look at anything while I type, it's somewhere over 80 WPM with zero errors.
Any reason why you asked back in 2015? Still lurk on this forum?

Before my wife and I met each other, we competed on a typing challenge app on facebook. You had to type a random phrase with punctuation and capitalisation. You would have to correct each mistake before it would register your answer.
The first go, I got 60wpm. That was quite easy. My wife then scored 70, which matched my best. So being the cheeky bugger I am, I got my brother to try and he scored 80.
My wife scored 90. My brother 100.
Then nothing. A few days later, she scored 120. We just laughed and gave up.
We’re all competent on the piano, but I play mostly Bach and Liszt, my brother Beethoven, and my wife Chopin, Debussy and Ravel.

I was quite shocked.... was always under the impression that this untrained person is quite good at typing at work but I only managed a measly 46wpm. The punctuation put me off a little (am British and some of the commas were wrong, IMO) and I'm typing on a Swiss German keyboard but nevertheless, I could never crack 80wpm.

I type at about 75 wpm. Not too bad, but nothing impressive.

@stormbringer... Probably, OP is trying to find any correlation between typing speed and piano playing (at least on the music sight reading aspect). Whether hand-eye coordination of typing translates to good piano playing while sight reading music and/or vice versa....

Years ago when I worked I could type around 90 wpm. I hardly ever made a mistake. My work caused me to type on IBM Selectric II, electric typewriter most of an 8 hour day so I had plenty of practice. I retired from work 43 years ago, however, I am still fast but not as fast or accurate as before.

I got 52wpm. Seeing other's speed is making me want to learn to speed type.

I can type between 90-105 words per minute, but my sight reading is atrocious.
Working On: Bach BWV 870 Beethoven Op. 90 Schubert Op. 90 No. 3 Chopin Op. 31 and Op. 10 No. 3

I have used Typera.tk to get a good sense of it (which I've found to be quite a rigorous online typing test)...fwiw I type on Qwerty (I suspect many of the outliers ahead of me type on a chord-style keyboard, which is a fancy way to learn to type using shortcuts).

71 per minute, and that's with use of the index fingers only 99% of the time. Might occasionally hit the space bar with either thumb.

Around 100 wpm.
I took typing in high school (a very long time ago). We still had manual typewriters and a couple of the fancy new IBM selectrics :-)
To this day I still like manual typewriters, much like I prefer a piano to a keyboard.
I took the class partially because I was learning piano/keyboards to play in a rock band, and because there were only two boys and something like 20 girls in the class.
