Hi everyone,

I have HS8 for my RD-700nx and I plug it from output jack to XLR in the monitor. Would it be better to plug it XLR to XLR?

The piano output XLR is written Balanced and the Jack is not written Balanced. Hmmm.... in fact... what is balanced? smile

Ok thanks!

But the RD-700 doesn't say if the TRS output are balanced.

Anybody knows?

It it is two TRS then it is balanced. But it's probably not. It's probably two TS and unbalanced. In that case XLR will be the way to get you the balanced signal.

That's right. According to Roland's docs for the RD-700NX, the rear-panel 1/4" outputs are unbalanced TS-type.

Using the Roland's XLR outputs to make a balanced connection with the HS8 may improve sound quality if you have noticed any hum or extra noise in the RD's sound or if you are using very long cables. Otherwise, the balanced and unbalanced connections will probably sound about the same.

Cheers,

B.
