I am wondering anybody here could kindly offer their opinion on the current/new Yamaha YUS5 upright?

I have played one and it would be my choice if I could not have the C2 Baby Grand. It sounds just as good. Actually, this is my plan for retirement in four years: the newest version of the C2 Silent or a YUS5SH - which is the YUS5 silent.

I bought one a year ago brand new. What attracts you to the model? I bought a new Kawai K8 at the same time. I am looking at a Kawai Shigeru next. What were you curious about?

I just went to a yamaha dealer last weekend and tried all the pianos that were there.
I prefer the YUS5 over the GC1, CX2 and definately all the uprights.
I immediately feel the difference when I played one after another.
The YUS5 uses the German strings and hammer, the bass has a clear sound and the soprano is not too bright, to me the GC1, CX2 has a more muffle bass, and the soprano of the GC1 was too bright.
If you have the budget, go for YUS5.
