Today they delivered our Roland LX-15 digital piano. We have not yet had a chance to play it as we want it to warm up before powering it up.

We set out to get a pair of speakers for my beloved Roland RD-700NX stage piano and ended up crushing our $400 speaker budget quite badly by getting this piano instead...

Here are some pictures of the LX-15 in our music room which now features three pianos:

You don't need to warm up a digital piano. Turn it on!

Well, that´s indeed a happy start into the new year!!! Congratulations!

You urgently should let it warm up if it was exposed to the (winter) cold during transport! Otherwise humidity in your warm room could condense on still cold electronic parts and cause a electric short (if parts would somewhere not be perfectly isolated)!

Beautiful looking instruments in that collection.

How are the acoustics of the room?

Thank you!!!

I have now had a chance to play the piano. It is amazing.... I love it!! The sound from the speakers is so great! I keep on forgetting it is a digital piano when I am playing as the sound surrounds me in a very natural way.

The piano to the right in the pictures above is our Nordiska 165R from 2001. The acoustics in the room are OK I think. The curtains and the sofa that we have in the room probably helps damping the sound.

Currently I am teaching our oldest son the piece "In Dreams" from the movie Lord of the Rings: The fellowship of the ring. And today we had a chance to play it simultaneously for the first time (DP and AP). That was quite the eye opener for me. I never expected it to be that fun and to be that great as a teaching tool!! Our son is starting his "real" piano lessons in less than a week which is very exciting as his teacher seems great.

Here are the first videos of me playing on our new digital piano:

The LX-15 is certainly an excellent choice as it has powerful speakers (with slightly higher wattage than the Kawai CA95) and I probably would have bought one as well had I not purchased the V-Piano.

It's a great digital, so do enjoy!
