It's Fun to Play the Piano ... Please Pass It On!
I'm doing a "zoo" recital and need pieces with animal titles. I can come up with plenty at levels 1-4 but am having trouble with more advanced pieces. I have the Celebration books, Cyril Scott's "Zoo", and Linda Niamath's books, but I'm really looking for levels 6-8. I would like to avoid method book pieces. Suggestions, please!
Carnival of the Animals, if you can find acceptable transcriptions. Pink Panther Something from the Lion King 101 Dalmations Animal Crackers in My Soup
I don't know what levels mean, so I am taking shots in the dark here.
Baby Elephant Walk Dance of the Fairies (sorry) When the Red Red Robin Listen to the Mocking Bird How much is that doggie in the window Poisoning Pigeons in the Park (Tom Lehrer, fantastic piece but not much good without the lyrics) Mary had a little lamb Mares eat oats and does eat oats and little lambs eat Ivy. (but, a kid'll eat ivy too)
I just listened to that -- that's an wonderful piece! Probably an easier sell than "Funeral March For A Pet Rat" from the same work. (I couldn't find that one on utube!)

The youtube recording of baby rhino is too slow. It's supposed to be like a polka on acid.
I've taught both pieces. Kids love rhino more than pet rat. They don't get the dry humor of pet rat.
