Thanks, James. I just successfully performed the update from v1.07 -> v1.09.
Last time, when updating from v1.06 -> v1.07, all my registrations and user memory, i.e. dual voice mode presets, were lost, probably due to an automatic reset to standard factory settings. Fortunately, I noticed that this time all 8 registrations + user memory are still intact after performing the update from v1.07 -> v1.09! smile

Thanks for the info, that's good to know.

I believe the previous update changed some operations, and added the ability to store extra settings in user memory, so that could be why the reset was necessary.

Cheers,
James

James can you provide me with a link to check out the CS9? I've looked online but can't find much on it. The CS9 appears, from what little I've seen, to be nearly a hybrid in terms of cabinet, action, etc. A beautiful DP for sure.

Zachary, the CS9 is not available in the US (yet), hence is not listed on the Kawai America website.

Perhaps the best source of information about the CS9 is the 'CS Series' brochure, available from the link below:

It seems to me that the links for CA63 instructions are wrong, they are pointing to the CS9. Inside the zip, the file named ca63_v109_en.pdf but it says CS9 in the title. It can be a little confusing.

The software is correct and working on my CA63.

Thanks Kawai James for the info

Hardwired, thank you for highlighting this issue.

I have emailed my colleagues at Kawai Europe, asking them to correct the mistake.

In future, I am planning to make the software updates available from Kawai Japan's Worldwide site, with the update instructions also available in additional languages, including Spanish.

Thanks again.

Kind regards,
James

And what about a more rich firmware update in the line proposed by TADutchman for CA63//93?... wink

Many thanks to Kawai James. This is my first message in forum. I have updated my recently purchased CA63 and it is great the fix for "notes when yo push keys very softly". Much better feeling and precise response.

Thank you again, James, for your notify.

Hello David, thank you for your post, and welcome to the forum!

Yes, TADutchman has made a number of good suggestions for future updates.
However, the engineers have to balance finding time to implement new features, while also working on writing software for new instruments.

Kind regards,
James

OT: feeling unloved on my CN33 smile

It does need the "Playing a note very softly no longer produces a sound." fix.

Great news about silent keys, although I was hoping for string and damper resonances finally enabled when playing through MIDI as well as a higher WAV level. Anyway, thanks for the update smile

macbug, the MP6 software update is effectively complete - we're just waiting to finalise (translate) the documentation.

spanishbuddha, the CN33 software update is coming - please wait a little longer.

Kind regards,
James

Hello folks,

I have updated the first post to include information about an additional CS9/CS6 fix related to the Harpsichord sounds.

I have also made the updates available from Kawai Japan's English language site.

Kind regards,

James

Hello James, care to explain this one? Do you really mean the user temperament can no longer be a temperament with a changeable base key? Say, e.g., you choose a tuning close to, but different from, a meantone temperament - is it then no longer possible to transpose the tuning to any self-chosen base key?

Surely I am missing something as such a restriction would (at least for my purposes) severely restrict the usefulness of the user temperament setting.

Thanks for the info.
i've a little doubt.
I've to update first with 1.08 or I can update directly with 1.09 and fix all the problems.
I suppose that in 1.09 is included this problem:
Playing a note very softly no longer produces a sound

If i have any problem updating and the piano breaks down. ( I know it's very very difficult but it can happen )
would cover the warranty this problem ?
the saleswoman told me Yes ( the warranty should cover the problem ) but i didn't see her very sure.

I ask it because in Kawai german say: for model MP9500 , MP9000
http://www.kawai.de/downloads_en.htm

!!! Attention !!! Update on your own risk.
If the data is not correctly transmitted, there is a risk of destroying the Flash-ROM. In this case only exchanging the main PCB board at your cost can help.
We do not give any guarantee!

but i don't if this is for all models
or only for MP9500 and MP9000.

thank you very much.
Kind regards.

maurus, thank you for your post. I may have been mistaken when translating the changelog, so will double-check with the CA development team tomorrow.

However, I believe I am correct in stating that previously, when using the 'User Temperament' function, it was not possible to adjust the pitch of 'A' without the pitches of other notes also being affected. The v1.09 update corrects this behaviour. This covers point 2a, however I'm still a little uncertain about point 2b. I will try to clarify this for you.

Kind regards,
James
