Just one question - how come everyone is so hurry to get it in today. Isn't it due until 9;00 Pm EST on Saturday?

My schedule is kind of unpredictable for the next couple days and I didn't want to risk missing it.

Yes, you have until Saturday, and maybe the story of your finger made some people nervous and they hurried to get it in while they have 10 good ones. Sorry to hear about your finger I hope it gets better soon.

I believe the deadline was originally on 11th and not all people probably are aware of the change. I did not get a clear cut answer on that, see above; but your notice seems to confirm my idea

Wouter, the deadline was never the 11th. Look back to the first post on this thread. It says, in bold print, twice, that the deadline is 9:00 pm EDT on May 14th.

Hopefully that is clear enough.

In at N. 42. I ended up not recording the piece I thought I was going to present - but with the turmoil of the past few weeks I just couldn't get the polish on it that I'd hoped for.

It will be for August!

I had 2 major concerns haunting me as I was recording. One is that the firestation - about 100m to the west of our place, has recently installed a horn. It reminds me of an the sirens you hear in films based in London during WWII. It goes off randomly. I would (in one sense) like to think that there is some correlation to a fire or disaster requiring the able assistance of the volunteer squad, however, in my heart I know there is neither rhyme nor reason for this horn to be going off and it is just darn irritating. Fortunately it is only a few times a week -but as I said, unpredictable!

The other thing is that we are in May. May is a big month in Italy because it is a whole month of commemorating Mary - and the church bells ring often and often, at(you guessed it) at random moments. Sometimes peals, sometimes songs, you never know. The bell tower is to the east of us, less than a 100metres. I see it from my kitchen window, and use its clock to time my cooking!

So between these two potential intrustions into my recording, and the usual jitters due to the red dot... argh. I was tense.

Still, I think it is one of the smoothest recordings I've made to date, and in a small way I'm pleased.

As for the Einaudi pieces - Carlos's piece is "Dolce Droga" - Sweet Drug, hmmm? Wonder what that is going to sound like?! Monica's is "Become" .....I am curious.

There is a super selection of pieces (as always) in this recital. I'm looking forward to hearing them all!

For "Dolce Drug" or "Sweet Drug", I was wondering why Einaudi call it that way... because it's not any kind of psychedelic piece or someting like that; in oposite, is a short but sweet melody. Let's see what all PW members has to say about that.

Just uploaded a short while ago!!

Just been looking at the programme so far - looks great. We have Bach, Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Schumann, Joplin, all represented, but no Mozart yet! I nearly played some Mozart too, but got sidetracked. Maybe someone will sneak one in at the eleventh hour. I'm already flicking through my music trying to pick something to learn for next time....

Made it at #51.
