I am curious to know if you practice every day and if so, how many hours?

I practice every day, for widely varying amounts. During the school year, I usually practice between 10 and 45 minutes M-F (average about 30), and 30-90 min. on weekends. During the summer, I'll get in more time, except for the weeks when I am gone on vacation.

That was the long answer. The short answer is "not nearly as much as I'd like to!"

I work 8-5 and I try to play at least 1:30 everyday but there is always something so usually I don't do it one weekday. Weekends I have the class and after that I don't practice at all

Lately, zero. Been traveling and lots of chores to do when I got back.

For some reason, it always takes me a while to get back in the groove when I've not played for a few weeks. Hope to hit it tomorrow.

As Monica said, not as much as I'd like to. I go to a boarding school, and I don't have a piano on my room. The pianos on the school suck, therefore am I not very insipired to leave my room and go playing either unfortunately... Probably like 1-2 hours a week at most. Some weeks I don't practise at all. It's a shame.

Next year I'll hopefully play a lot more if I make it to the music education...and this summer and after I've gotten my NP88. smile

Cheers.

I usually play an average of two hours a day since I now have the time to do it. But, all of it's not practice in a strict sense. I'll improvise for awhile, work on a particular technical issue for awhile, compose for awhile, work on learning to play another composer's piece for awhile, and record something (or attempt a recording), then come back to one of the above again etc. My point is that I find breaking things up makes the whole process more enjoyable and, for me, I accomplish more over all. On days when I play gigs (four 45 min sets usually) I sometimes will play/practice/record before the gig...which, for those days, puts it at 5 to 6 hours. Perhaps, a little OCD :-)

It widely varies for me, though I try to fit in at least an hour and a half. On most days, 2 hours, sometimes, I practice for up to 6 hours. Haha. But that's me as a conservatory student :]
