Mark, You ever try playing with the lid totally closed and the piano desk on top? My piano is in a small room and I like it like this, although I do mix it up some.

Euhmmmmm..... what I DO NOT like about my grand? Hard question, because it sounds perfect!

But yes, one thing: My grand puts all other pianos I play on to the shame. Their action. Their tone. And that's a bit disappointing sometimes when you play on someone else's piano.

Okay one very tiny thing about my own piano: it sometimes cracks a little when it is cold and dry outside. Then there sometimes is a crack in the deepest point of the es4 and the pedal pushrod sometimes cracks in its bushings.

no, I guess that might muffle the metallic sound.

After finally getting the action regulated and tuned on my K3 - the only thing is the repetition rate on fast songs. I wish it had a repetition springs like the grands do.

My 2003 Mason and Hamlin BB is built like a tank - but it is SO DOGGONE LOUD. I play with the una corda pedal depressed most of the time - and with the lid closed. Can a Mason be successfully voiced "down" to achieve a more mellow sound?
