I've found a cheap keyboard I like the sounds on, but can't really find complete specifications on it.

It does have what it calls a USB B MIDI connection, but I can't find any details on that.

Should I assume the Casio WK500 has no way to connect to editing software?

Thanks

If it has Midi it will connect to a computer and you can do anything you like, edit record or whatever, depends on the software. The WK500 is not the cheapest keyboard out there and if the intent is to keep it connected to a computer you can generate the sounds in the computer. It all depends on what you plan to do.

Ah, so it's a matter of whether the keyboard can store the sounds you make up. It's not the cheapest, but I doubt it will store much if anything. But I like the sound of it better than some Rolands and Yamahas I've heard.

Thanks

The keyboard doesn't store anything. It just sends MIDI values to the computer, which generates the sound by way of software (VST). The computer stores these sounds, and can also store recordings if you choose to compose.

You will be able to connect to your software via USB also.
What program are you going to be using for your Daw.
