I am shopping for a DP and found a used YDP 160 and CLP 930, the CLP 930 is very old right? how it compare to new model like YDP 160? and the p155.
the YDP 160 and CLP are around 500-600. Good price? I have not check the condition yet, I assume they are fine. Of course a new P155 is $1000.

Any opinion on this?

Forget about 10 year old DPs.

You can download the user manual for the YDP160. See if you think you could learn to use the controls. For example try setting the metronome to "118". Split the ketborad with string bass on the left. Afte reading, do you think you could actually rememeber how to do those types of things without a manual? On the P155 most common functions have labled buttons. The YDP 160 also lacks a one sample layer and a few other small things in the sound. But if you can get a YDP160 for 1/2 the price t is really worth considering. Especially because later you can sell it and not take much of a loss.

Some people prefer the looks of the console piano, but really, I think the YDP range looks like a cheap Ikea-quality attempt at looking like a traditional piano while the P155 is simply "modern" and not trying to look like what it is not.

But then I might put up with the YDP160 if it were half the price of a P155 and I did not plan to use most of the control buttons on the P155. The sound is not that much different.

I think the YDP 160 is priced fair. It is not the current model (it was replaced b the YDP161) and piano loos a lot of value when they are no longer current models. The 500-600 price reflects this

Thanks Chris, I never consider new YDP because it is out of my budget, the cheapest one YDP 141 is more exp that P155. But this used YDP 160 sell for $600 , i think it worth to consider because I am close to buy a P95.. because it is cheaper.
The reason I consider p95 is it fit my budget and I may upgrader after 2 years if I still play piano. I just start playing again after like ..20 years.. so not sure I can keep my interest for long.

At last I bought the YDP 160 for $600, it is great conditions. The prev owner takes great care of it. I think the touch is same as the p155 but it is 400 less than a p155, it has stand and bench, the owner even give me a headphone ... yeah i can live with lack of controls buttons.

congratulations on your purchase... I have the following model ( 161) and you'll love it. the lack of buttons, displays and lights is an added bonus... you want to learn and play piano, not a computer.

For $600 I think you made a great choice in the YDP-160. I have one and for piano practice it works great. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles and ease of changing settings found on other instruments, but if all you want to do is turn it on and play piano like I do it's a great instrument.
