Haha! This is awesome! I love this piece and have to get my hands on the sheet music. smile Knowing the background to it makes it make so much sense to me.
I very much enjoyed your performance and the picture added immensely to the effect, especially in the very opening of the piece. I really had no idea what a cotton mill looked liked.

Since I'm guessing you have a very good voice you could sing it before playing it. This is what Ursula Oppens did when I heard her perform this piece in 2005 at the IKIF.
My voice isn't very strong, but I've recently taken up voice lessons and have been working hard to improve. My sight singing and aural skills are through the roof, though wink
