I love this piece so much. It is somehow just so Rachmaninoff.

enjoy
Yes, I agree with your comment: it is somehow quintessential Rachmaninov -- a slight bemused half-smile at the Classical style; "Russianisms" grafted in; pianistically difficult material which must be presented with wit and elegant control.
I thought you captured this very well -- thanks for sharing!
You capture the character very nicely.
Very beautiful!
If you plan on capturing all the Etudes-Tableaux, I'd buy the disc smile

Seriously.

In a way its rather prokofiev. Excellent playing as usual.
What's with leaving the forum JAP..?

i hope you come back
I've always had a feeling that he might leave. "Serious pianists just don't participate in internet forum chats!" is something I can imagine him saying. I do hope he comes back though. He had lots of insightful things to say about other videos posted here and it was an invaluable contribution from him.

I don't understand why....
Strictly speaking, one cannot leave the forum. One must ask a moderator.
I hope he will change his mind though. He is a very accomplished pianist.
