My teacher started me on this book after we finished Faber Piano Adventures Book 1. Note these are Hymns not contemporary worship. Hymns are great little 16 to 20 bar exercises that sound good and drill home I IV and V7 in the left hand

Book - Religious Favorites By James Bastien

Right Hand single note melody
Left hand simple I IV and V7 chord or partial chord.
Hymns in C G F and some in D (I haven't gotten to the hymns in D yet but I think there are some in the book.)
Minimal hand movement.

You'll get really good at reading melody lines and I IV V7 chords in C, G and F if you play through this book.

What’s the difference between “worship music” and “hymns”?

I think of Hymns as old school songs with multiple stanza's and no instrumental solos (e.g. Rock of Ages) designed for group singing.
Contemporary worship songs are more like modern pop songs in arrangement intro, verse, verse, bridge, verse, outro and also may include an instrumental solo(s). You can sing along for sure but they seem designed more like pop songs with a vocal soloist in mind.

There are others on here (and google) far more qualified than I to explain the difference!

i like hymns in the easy book I linked because they are short little supplemental exercises that sound good (sound good to me anyway).

This may be a terrible answer and if so hopefully someone will come along and correct me and I'll learn something.

Check out YouTube for videos by "Hillsong", a modern "worship music" group.
