musdan and sweet_melody:
These are informal parties where we get together to play for and with each other. The developmental level in the core group of party goers ranges from beginner to professional. I'm currently at the late beginner/early intermediate level and have been attending PW parties since I first began playing. Everyone is very supportive of each other!
You do not need to play if you don't feel comfortable playing. I do, however, suggest that you bring some of your music - just in case you change your mind. You won't find a kinder, more generous group of people with whom to play. I have learned a great deal from the folks who attend both the NY and DC area parties.
I generally bring some munchies as my contribution to the party. (We socialize as well as play the piano.) You are also welcome to bring a spouse, friend, children (just let Jeffrey know how many people are coming). Grotriman often brings his two boys, Lex and Oliver. Fingers's son, Ben, has also joined us a couple of times. I really enjoy having the children join in with us - even though they play better than do I.
Hope to see you at the next party . . . Linda
