A fine pianist from Massachusetts is embarking on a project to make a CD of piano pieces by six contemporary composers from various countries. She needs just a little bit of support from anyone interested in promoting contemporary "classical" piano compositions. Please have a look at:

What a pleasant surprise to see this posted here! One of the composers represented, Jake Bellissimo, is a personal friend of mine, and I respect him as a musician greatly. He's going to Eastman in the fall. This project is so close to being fully funded - pitch in, everyone!

Just donated. What a great idea. I had the idea to do something like this myself actually, but I will probably wait for a year or so to properly plan it and get good enough to make a good job of it. Let's just hope that people's charitableness hasn't been exhausted by then :p hehe

Help!
What a wonderful project! I am just learning about this now, but I would love to get a copy of the CD when it is ready. Congrats to Heather for her successful Kickstarter campaign!

Speaking of contemporary piano music, I am currently giving away some recent recordings of my work for the Holidays, in case anyone is interested.

Looks like the release was delayed a few times. Was an update for another retake session on Nov. 20. frown

A lot of contemporary piano music that is worth playing or recording can also be found on the IMSLP by searching "scores featuring the piano" and restricting to "period: modern". Like this one for example (random pick):

International Music Score Library Project - Stephan - Prelude E-Flat major

Hello, just wanted to report that the CDs are now done and released!

BUMP

I hope everyone checks this out. I downloaded it a couple weeks ago, and it's an excellent recording of some hard-to-find repertoire. Great work, I continue to be amazed at the level of talent we have here on the forums!
Thanks so much Kreisler.
BTW the album is now on iTunes, amazon, and other digital music outlets as well.
Congratulations on the release, Heather! Sounds like a great album.

Thank you for mentioning this, I am curious to listen! Yes, congrats, Heather!!
