Chopin wrote his op.46, Alkan his op.39 concerto, and now I 'discovered' Edouard Wolff (1816-1880, Warsaw-Paris, pupil of Elsner....) who wrote an 'Allegro de concert' op.39(!) dedicated to ' son ami F. Chopin', totally based on op.46 but 30 min. and in quite an accomplished form à la Liszt, I played it through a few times and am hooked, who else can find time to experience this piece and discuss it with me, it's on IMSLP.
