Hi,

I really need help for buy boston 178. The dealer said there are no discount for new one. But there is one which used only in this year festival/concert. And they ask for $25000? I have limited knowledge about the piano price. Could anybody tell me how much is the reasonable price for it?

Thanks a lot for any advice.
Decide how much the piano is worth to you - then make that offer. Walk away if they say no.
Steinway, Boston, and Essex are usually not discounted like other brands. It's just how it is. If the dealership is not owned by S&S, and is a franchise dealership, there may be more wiggle room.

The current price for a Boston GP-178 PE in Ebony finish is $29,600. If the other instrument, the one loaned to the festival is being sold as "first owner" and comes with the full Steinway factory warranty, it would be a very good price.
If it were me, I'd offer $22,500, with checkbook in hand, and settle for $24,000. And that would include an adjustable bench.
