Hi all, I'm looking for a digital piano for about a thousand dollars. So far I have eliminated the rd-150 and P-60. I think I am mostly deciding between the P-90, P-120, and YDP-113. I am curious to see what other people think of the YDP-113 and how it compares to the p-90 and p-120 I played all three but at different times so it is kind of hard to compare sounds. I am mostly concerned with keyboard feel and piano sound. They all sounded good to me and i actually think the ydp-113 sounded more realistic than the p-90, but that could have been due to the amp. I also think the ydp-113 felt a little more like a real piano. I know a lot of people here can not get the YDP-113 because it is not as portable as the p-series, however, portability is not an issue for me. Thanks for any responses.

You can compare the specifications and features on Yamaha's website. Better yet, download the manuals for both the P120 and the YDP113 and compare to see which one suites your purpose.

The features I see being the most different (besides esthetics) are the Polyphony (64 for the P120 and 32 for the YDP113) and the size of the built-in amplifier. The P120 only has a 12.5 watt amp while the YDP113 has a 20 watt amp. That may be why the YDP sounded better to you (because it was louder).

But if you want loudness, realism, and portability isn't a criteria, then why not buy a decent used acoustic piano? They not only feel like a real piano, sound like a real piano, but they are a real piano.

You might also want to consider the Clavinova CLP-115. It has the same features as the YDP-113, but three pedals instead of one, slightly more substantial cabinet, and a longer warranty. My local dealer has it for under $1k.
