Ok,

This is not a member's recording, but I don't know where else to share it. On the upside of this, I'm currently studying another work of Dan Perttu, and I hope to tackle this later in 2014!

Please enjoy!

Nikolas, that was a really intriguing and attention-capturing piece! The impetuous stream of eighth (and similar) notes communicates such energy and is contrasted by the use of strong open-fifth chords. And then there are the surprising, almost gentle una corda sections. Great piece!

Too bad it's a 2-piano piece; that makes it a lot harder to find a performance venue. If you do manage to tackle this next year, please be sure to post a recording.

Hi Nikolas,

That is a very nice composition right up to the final section with its relentless open fifths!

I went to his website and enjoyed Light and Shadow in the Yosemite Valley as well, and also the reading of his entry on music aesthetics, with the hope to find works by him for solo piano.

In my humble and unqualified opinion he is an excellent choice for Editions Musica Ferrum!

Solo or duet?

duet "unfortunately". I didn't mention it on the thread, but Chris did mention it, and it's on the video as well I believe... :-/

In any case thank you for listening and commenting.

It IS a great work and Dan is a gem that I was very happy to discover myself (not that he needs discovering himself. But I just happened to run across his music).

And Michael? I do agree that he's a great addition to the publishing house. and thank you for everything! smile

Cool. I saw the score printed as a duet, but didn't want to assume that's what you were doing. Sounds like fun! smile
