Hi Piano World Users!

This is my second composition and first for string orchestra. Here is what I have from two days time of work. - String Orchestra Piece

I'm not really sure where to go from here with this piece. Should I bring back the main melody? New melody? End it where it is? etc. I'm new to the composing world so all the input I can receive would be great. Thank you for your time.

Harrison

Hi Harrison,

The link you pasted in was "https://soundcloud.com/stream." This takes the user to whatever stream they're logged into, so for example in my case it takes me to my own stream on soundcloud, not yours. You need to paste a real link to your piece or at least your stream. For example, my stream on soundcloud is http://soundcloud.com/pantonality.

Sorry but I couldn't hear your music.

Why are people bumping threads? It's considered bad etiquette to bump one's one threads, especially if a reply has already been received.

Hi, Harrison! Well -- pretty -- and effective; a short conservative digression of appropriate length. I would comment, though, that this piece "feels" more like a piece for winds, and perhaps a little brass, with strings serving as a full accompaniment, rather than a piece FOR string orchestra. Perhaps introducing the theme in pizzicato might be a more effective way of indicating that this piece is intended for string alone -- just a thought.

Thanks for sharing this!
