I'm a piano tech, and began career as composer. Thought I'd check out this board to see what is happening. The tech board is lively, full of fun & life>> this board seems down... What's up? SM

Personally, I have huge respect for Piston, still have it in house, ... this would be late 60's early 70's venue. 2 years 5 days a week of Sir Walter, excellent background I think.
In that timeframe we did not even have an electronic keyboard. Always interested in sound, and the depth of sound waves.... Colombia-Princeton had a computer that filled 4 walls, and could simulate any sound. Fascinating!
I particularly love what David Arkenstone has done with music.... others....

This board has its busy times and its quiet times. It's just how it is. People are busy. At least I am smile . Be patient and something will happen eventually. smile

Those are the good editions of Piston, before he went loopy. I too have a Piston Harmony of this vintage, along with his excellent Counterpoint. I still use both for teaching (private rudiments, theory, harmony, counterpoint, ear-training).

It would be nice if modern music-store-bought equipment was more geared to composers, like the stuff we had access to in university. So much of the new stuff is just disposable techno-junk.
