OP andrewp Full Member A Joined: Sep 2004 Posts: 494 united kingdom	What do pianoworld regulars make of the so-called 'Nordic' or 'Scandinavian' jazz that is coming out of parts of Europe at the moment. In particular it's pianists like Essbjorn Svensson and Tord Gustavsen I am thinking of. They seem to be all the rage here. What are its 'Nordic' characteristics? Is it jazz? Or is it just acoustic wallpaper? I'm quite ambivalent towards it, but strangely fascinated at the same time... Ineterested in any views.

I've heard them both -but Gustavsen more - on BBC Radio 3 Late Junction. Sorry I don't know of specific sites one can link to for whole rtacks.
