Hi all,

I'm new here. I've always wanted to learn the piano since young and now I finally have some free time and would like to pick it up. I would like to learn at my own pace and I think DVD lessons would be ideal.
Which is the best on the market, tried and tested? For a slow learner like me, would I definitely be able to pick up piano playing without have a teacher to guide me? In other words, would I be lost watching the DVDs?
I am very tempted by Duane Shinn's 52 weeks crash course but the price is crazy. I don't mind if it's good and will work but what if it doesn't? There are so many others and the price are so much more affordable but again, are they any good?
I would really appreciate recommendations. Thanks.

I don't know much about dvds but this youtube channel has recording of a teacher, karen ramiez, out of northern california teaching actual adult begginers. She is entertaining to watch and explains concepts very clearly in an easy to understand way. I have learned a lot from her.

Might be something to check out since the youtube service is free.

Remember, you get what you pay for. I'd find the best real teacher you can. Then DVDs will make more sense to you.
