Hello everyone,
I recently purchased a new Schimmel Grand piano, and have begun playing again, after years of only playing every now and then. I started lessons when I was a kid and took them into my teenage years. I then took a 20 year hiatus, and am now back at it again. Things are a little rusty, but coming back nicely. One area I have always had trouble was in sight reading. I got lazy as I have a good ear and can often play things simply by listening to them. As far as reading music, I do fine on the standard notes, but on the notes above and below the staff, I have a hard time. I also find that when I sit down to play, I can play it, but if you asked me what not it was that I was playing (particularly on the left hand)I couldn't quickly tell you.
I work in the car business and often times have hours available when I don't have a customer and nothing to do. I was wondering if anybody knows of a good software program that I can put on my computer at work that would allow me to improve my sight reading and particularly the more difficult notes. Something that does not require a midi input...perhaps a flash card kind of thing?
Has anyone heard of such a program and where I might be able to find one?
