Hi all;I have an old upright piano that I am trying to fix up;and Isee the soundboard is seperated from the side of the case- or perhaps it is supposed to be that way? Does anyone know if soundboards are originally glued solid to the sideboards in uprights,at the edges? many thx ,kev PS this is an english (birdcage) piano in very rough shape

Good luck with that! Many piano techs(myself included)won't even touch the birdcage action pianos. Too much trouble!
