Did anyone notice the stick position?

Wrong indeed. Long prop sits in the short prop hole. Should be sitting in the next one so it's perpendicular to the lid.

Out of curiousity, what piano is that? Is there a way one can tell just by the iron framing?

No, I am sure it was photographed that way. I think it is a Yamaha C7 or a similar piano. You should not be able to do that on new Yamahas. They have a stop to prevent it. But I have seen a Yamaha stick that was damaged by someone doing that, in spite of the stop.

The lid will be higher in the lower cup. But some people do not have the spatial awareness to see that.
