Hi,

Here's the press release for my upcoming Vancouver Recital

Vancouver, BC - The management of Vancouver classical pianist Cary Chow are pleased to announce the release of his long-awaited new CD, Zirkus (Step Inside), featuring two large-scale 19th century masterpieces: Carnaval Opus 9 and Kreisleriana Opus 16 by Robert Schumann. Zirkus was recorded, mixed and mastered at The Woodshop Recording Studio in Duncan, BC; the CD booklet and web site was created by Adam Jones; photography is courtesy of Mark Maryanovich.

The CD launch concert of Zirkus (Step Inside) will take place at the Vancouver East Cultural Centre (1895 Venables Street) on September 7th, 2007 at 7:30pm. The recital will feature Kreisleriana, as well as the Chaconne in D Minor by J.S. Bach (arranged by Brahms for left hand), the Ballade #1 by Frederic Chopin and Après une lecture du Dante by Franz Liszt. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the BC Music Therapy Association.

Once dubbed ‘a composite of Vladimir Horowitz and Ozzy Osbourne’, and infamous for his exotic skin boots and black art tattoos, Cary Chow never fails to electrify audiences. He has performed solo recitals, chamber music and concerti with orchestras in Canada, the United States, United Kingdom and China since the age of 11. At the age of 16, he made his New York debut at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. He has taught at the Victoria Conservatory of Music, University of Victoria, Xing Hai Conservatory in Guangzhou, and has been guest professor at the prestigious Central Conservatory of Music & Attached Music School in Beijing.

Zirkus (Step Inside) will be available August 25th from cdbaby.com. Cary Chow will be available for CD signing immediately following the event. Since seating is limited, tickets for the September 7th CD release concert are available now through Ticketmaster.ca or (604) 280-4444. $20/$15 plus applicable service charges.
