Im starting to think about a piano recital programme (i have not started most of these yet) but anyway here is the programme:
Bach Partita no.4
Mozart Sonata in F k.533
Interval
Chopin a "big polonaise" not sure which one yet probably op.44
Chopin selected mazurka's
Liszt six consolations
End
Encore: Thinking about something like mourton Gould's boogie woogie etude? Any suggestions would be welcome Please not a chopin etude or a Liszt Etude. And what do you think of the programme

I don't think you should be worrying about an encore if most of the program isn't learned yet. If the Liszzt Consolations are all like the two famous ones in D flat and E major I wouldn't program them all together(even three would be a lot) and definitely don't end with them.

There are almost an infinite number of possible encores to choose from.

I agree with pianoloverus thought that it might be a little early to be thinking of encores when the programme has not yet been learned.

I would say, however, that I think the programming of all six of the Liszt Consolations is an excellent idea. While there are similarities between Nos 1 and 4 in texture and that No 3 is somewhat similar to those two in mood, Nos 2, 5, and 6 are different enough that they provide a suitable - if not dramatic - contrast. Moreover, in my experience, the six are so seldom heard as a set, that I would really welcome hearing them in recital. I wonder if performers think that they are "too easy" to be programmed in a recital context. What a shame, if they do!

2013 is the 200th anniversary of Alkan's birth, so I suggest that you should do a miniature by him. His music isn't as well known as other Romantic era composers, and lots of people think that he wrote very difficult music that's not worth playing, but there are lots of great miniatures. He has multiple small Barcarolles in G Minor that are nice.

You should have some pieces in your repertoire that are not on your program prepared, and pick the one of those that strikes you as being fitting for the moment.

Chopin's first ecossaise would make a nice little encore.. unless you're looking for bigger pieces.

For me, an appropriate encore is always:

1 short -- 2 min max.
2 immediately pleasing in some way: i.e., touching, or lightly virtuosic, or humorous, etc.
3 different in tone than the finishing piece.

Rather like an after dinner mint, so to speak.

I agree with pianoloverus.. I might shift the consolations to the beginning and/or middle of the 2nd half. I would probably end with the polonaise.

As for encores, I also agree you should learn the program first, and then start considering what to play after it.
