I did well with the easy's but failed 10, didn't even try to go on. To think I thought I was so great those first few times... Must be the age creeping up on me.

Thanks for the link... Great fun. My brain cells are wearing out too. I did okay on the 8 words, I can feel the rhythm, but failed miserably on 10. I think with some practice I may get that back too.

It's funny I can remember people's names, and where they work. I've done that with all of the dealers I am in contact with for my work.

How on Earth could you not memorize 8 words!! I managed to get through everyone of them but when i came to the last test of 30 i mixed up number 26 and 27 so i failed. Although in my defence my sister did come into the room and i talked to her so i momentarily lost concentration. So how did everyone go about learning the words - it musn't have been that effective if none of you could even get past 10!

Yippie. smile

Part of my problem is some medication, called Bacleforen, I'm on that causes short term memory loss. I find that some things don't sink in as they used to. If I keep working at things, they start to come back and they get easier.

First of all, wow Princess! eek You have an amazing memory! smile

I must have the worst memory ever, or just wasn't paying enough attention.

Ok, so I tried it again, and I passed both 4 and 6, but I failed 8.

How are you trying to memorize them? People told me the best way to remember things in lists is to make up a story containing the words but that totally doesn't help me. This is gonna sound weird but i do it with rhythm and association to my fingers.

Say i had five words, eg apple, chicken, desk, cow, flower. I would start with my thumb and allocate one digit to every word so (ie,apple=thumb, chicken=2nd finger, desk=3rd, cow=4th, flower=5th). Then once i had a word for each finger i say them over and over again whilst pointing to each finger - by doing this i find the natural rhythm of the words which means i can then repeat them without having to think too much about it (kinda like learning lyrics to a song).

I know this sounds a bit unorthadox but it works for me. Give it a go - it's how i can remember so many things - obviously the more words you get the more words you have allocated to each finger (this is where the rhythm bit helps loads), so it can get a bit tricky.

Well, what works for me might not work for you. I tried it again and got the 30 test right. I guess i'm just lucky that i found a technique that works for me.

Good memory, good at typing, good at piano - you name it i can do it!! Nah, i'm just kidding - i'm not really that big headed. And you gotta give me a minute AU - its hard enough competing with your posts let alone doing it at the same time as taking a personality test!

Hehe - at least you're passionate about something other than piano. Hey! You can add that to the interest thread!
