For a tech, they are #1 and #88. Or they could be A-27.5 and C-4185 or whatever. Or it could be the first chipping, and the wrecker's ball falling on it.

Ah... but what about the Bosie with the extra bass notes?

A piano has 88 <font size="+2"> keys</font>, so the answer to the question would be "the first and 88th notes played". Right?

first is A0,last is C7.

Similarly to Matt G. There are no notes on a piano, only Keys. Notes appear on sheet music

For most techs,

Lowest note is A0, and the highest is C8 (the first C being C1).

Which Bösie do you mean? The 225 has 4 extra notes below A0, and the Imperial has 9, going down to C0

The imperial. That's probably enough in the bass for me, but I need more up top. I could probably get by with up to G8 for a while maybe.
Someday, though, I WOULD like more in the bass, maybe down to where you can verbally count (out loud) the individual vibrations of the lowest strings.

88key:

The imperial's lowest note vibrates at 16 Hz. 16 is plenty low enough to count individual vibrations, only ... you can't hear that low. You don't hear the fundamental tone on that note, you're hearing harmonics.
Perfect, infant hearing ranges from roughly 20-20,000 Hz. So unfortunately, you can't hear a tone low enough to count it's vibrations (unless it's above 20).

Interestingly, the resonant frequency of the human intestine is 15 hz. which is very close to the lowest note on the imperial. I doubt you'd ever get the amplitude necessary, but theoretically a nice burst of 15 Hz should send the room for the bathrooms.
this was used as riot control early on, but the scientists who discovered it were just smart enough to be dangerous.
The police officers manning these huge frequency generators thought that putting ear plugs in would save them. *laugh*
