It's been about 10 years since I've played seriously. After considering for about two years, I just purchased a new Kawai GM-10K. I've read some of the older threads, but I'm curious if anybody has any more thoughts about this piano. I realize this is a "consumer grade" piano, but I'm still very excited about it. It's tone is beautiful compared to the piano I grew up playing on!

I'd love to hear peoples' experiences and thoughts, both good and bad.

irretractable,

That model has made many people happy, highlighted by its good action. In the great pantheon of piano, comments about the piano's limitations would seem...irretractable. I think its better to enjoy your piano than to second guess or risk unfair comparisons.

Happy playing!

Thanks Norbert and PianoWorksATL! Not second guessing, just excited. I know there are certainly better pianos out there (and many not as good). Now that I own one (yet to be delivered), I'm curious to hear from others who have experience with this piano. Might seem a little backwards, I know. smile Just having fun thinking about it...since I can't quite play it yet!

Congrats! We love our Kawai as I am sure you will love yours. Don't get hung up in others opinions of your piano. The only that matters is yours while you are filling your home with music.

Oh yeah. Edit your signature to add your piano when it arrives.

Congratulations & Welcome to Piano World!

They are very nice sounding instruments and the action is a pleasure to play.

Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy, - I'm sure you will.

It's much easier to bash a Steinway than it is to play one.
