Having decided not to buy the Kwai K-18 for 2800 I was considering. I am about to look at a Kawai NS-20A (49 inch upright, PE) at 3300.00 which seems like a much better value for money instrument. It was built in 1995. I'm pretty sure I'm going to buy it.

It has not been tuned in six years, however. Will I need to have tuned a couple of times to get it stable and if so, at what interval should I do so?

If you need a pitch raise then it's like doing 2x tunings. I'd do this first tuning maybe 3 weeks after getting the piano into your home. Then after that every 6~12 months depending on how stable the tuning is and how sensitive you are.

Congratulations, I've heard that the NS-20A is a good model.
