Bechstein A1 49.5 In = 15,900
Baldwin 1992 6'3" = 14,975

They are both in nice condition, the Baldwin could use some technical work. For those who have played both: what would you pick? I was told the Bechstein A1 uses strings equivalent to a 6 ft. grand, I wouldn't know though.

Personally, the Bechstein A1 sounded better to me. However, I'm no expert, so I'd like to hear from the more experienced crowd.

I'm making my final decision/purchase this week, so, the sooner the better!
Thanks!

1990* my bad, asking price is 16,900 (from owner)

OHHH
Sorry, I'm not very organized at the moment.
There are two Steinway Uprights, ranging from 1920-2002, all similair price range, all 1098 models, the oldest only has two pedals (probably out of the question for me), would anybody recommend the Steinway 1098 over the other pianos?

I think you will be happier in the long run to get a grand piano. You should bring a technician to evaluate any used piano.

I purchased a used piano over a new grand piano and I am very happy with my decision.

Best of luck to you!

Thanks!

However, I've actually made my decision (after not seeing a post in 24 hours) I grew slightly impatient. However, after putting some thought, I realized I probably wouldn't be able to get ahold of a technician any time soon, I went ahead with the Bechstein A1. It's arriving on Thursday!
