OK Folks, here it is, our first Adult Beginner's Forum Recital. So, pull up a chair and have a listen.

I would like to take this opportunity to ask the audience to please
refrain from commentary in this recital room.

A separate room has been provided for the purposes of intermezzo discussion. Please take any and all comments to the Discussion Room .

Copper has amazingly grouped ALL the music pieces together into four zip files. So if you don't want to wait for one file at a time it might be better to be download all the files to your harddrive or burn them to CD.

PW ABF Recital Part 1 20MB
PW ABF Recital Part 2 21MB
PW ABF Recital Part 3 21MB
PW ABF Recital Part 4 15MB

ENJOY! smile

. Music description - I really like Jim Brickmans piano music as it not only sounds very nice, but I can actually play it! I am very much improvising on a very simple "easy" piano score. Thats what you do when you can't read the more difficult music!!, Hope you like it.

. Performer's name : Suzane (Suz)
. Experience : Im not an adult beginnerI studied classical piano for about 15 years, but then stopped playing for an equal number of years. I started playing again last March.

. Music Link : Bach_Sinfonia_15.mp3

. Size in MB : 1.04 MB
. Length MM:SS : 01:31
. Title/Composer : Sinfonia #15/JS Bach
. Instrument used : Shigeru Kawai 66 Grand
. Recording method : Laptop built-in mic into Audacity. Im so sorry for the poor quality! Im having technical difficulties with my fancier recording equipment. I just stuck the laptop on the music desk on the treble side.
. Source : Sheet music
. Music description : Well, what can you say about Bach? My early piano teacher was the organist of our Lutheran church, and I learned to love Bach (and organs) from her. This is the first piece I learned after the long break from piano. It was a little scary at first, because Id try to play the music and these weird disorganized jumbles of notes would come out. But its been really fun, too.

. Music description : This is a solo arrangement of a song that I have never heard. I decided not to try to get a recording of the original because I wanted to keep the image that I got from the score for this arrangement. I wouldn't really call it a pop song, so I'll just stick with "non-classical solo piano." Also, if anyone is interested, please click on this link for my web page and take a look at my latest photo: http://www15.ocn.ne.jp/~k.world0/piano/pianotop.html

. Length MM:SS : 4:31
. Title/Composer : Le Reine De Saba / M. Laurent
. Instrument used : Yamaha P90
. Recording method : Line out & AudioGrabber
. Source : Sheet music
. Music description : This is the first song I learned on the piano.

BOB MUIR'S NOTE: This piece was so amazing for someone with only two months experience, that I asked for more detail, this is what Tomas said:

I began playing piano because my friend played this beautiful song, and I asked if she could teach it to me. Although she thought I would never take it seriously, she gave me a couple of drills to practice and I had them down pretty well in a day or so, so she gave me another drill, then had me practice some measures from the song (each hand individually), showed me how to read sheet music, and pretty soon I could play pretty well.

Aside from the initial drills and instruction on music reading, I would say that I am self-taught and the last few songs I've learned have been entirely on my own. The only method I use is to slow play the song and work my way up to tempo. . but I should add that I am quite obsessive and often practice two hours a day, almost every day, sometimes more - especially when I was starting out.
