Hi all

Just bumped into this site from a google search. Seems like a great place!

I hope this is the right place for this message. smile Sooo an introduction...

I've been playing for about 2 years now, with no previous musical experience. Of course that means progress is slow but steady, although the fun I'm having more than makes up for that. smile No teacher at the moment but I'm looking around for one. My piano is a Yamaha GT20 which is a kind of hybrid piano. Tt's a digital but it has an authentic upright action - a pretty good compromise since I often play late at night. I've just started learning my first Bach invention (no.13) so I'll probably be boring you all with questions about it soon!

Thanks for listening!

Ben

Welcome to the forum Ben! If you have the ability to record your piano, our next recital is coming up shortly and we'd love to hear your playing. Don't worry about not being a "pro", participants in the recitals range from playing for a few months to many years.

Once again, welcome!

GT20 is GrandTouch, right? i heard its action is the best Yamaha made. good luck with Bach invention 13, which i always felt is hard one and had to learn a few times before and now forgot most of. it's important to work out the fingerings, or you'd have some trouble with it.

have fun!

Welcome to the forum, Ben! If you haven't already, check out the thread at the very top of the AB forum page called "Important Topics." It has links to many helpful threads.

This is a great place, full of enthusiasm and occasional bouts of silliness. smile

Welcome Ben, would love to hear your playing. Recordings aren't mandatory, but imo they should be laugh

Yes that's right. I haven't heard that about the action, although it is very good compared to others I've tried.

That sounds great. I've done a couple of recordings before, so I should be able to get something sorted in time.
