This was my one attempt. The best thing that came out of it was my parents saw it and sent me money for new hammers. smile

Hey Can anyone tell me the best way to record sound for my youtube performances? Bearing in mind capturing video is fine with my canon camera, its just the built in mic is not great and I want better sound quality perhaps from a seperate high end mic? I heard this zoom H2 is good. I am in desperate need to figure this out, please help. The link below is my current recorded videos on youtube anyway.

I use a Logitec Fusion webcam that allows the PC to act as the mic which eliminates all background noise. I still get confused when hooking it all up though!

Just a stones throw in Peterborough. I love going to the dogs. laugh

Youtube currently isn't be best place to upload anything musical. They've got these horrid compressors and stuff in place that are driving musicians nuts. Take a look at this video here:

Mangled Audio

This guy has a slight workaround bit it isn't perfect and may sound bad to some (as well as the technique having undesirable effects on the high quality version). Also, if Youtube fixes the issue in the future it may have other side effects. He's got a link of a better version using the bit of an audio hack which you can get to via the related videos.

I worked really hard to create the Ravel concerto in G on my page but Youtubes new audio scheme completely ruins it. No dynamics at all.

Yea Youtube compression is horrible but if it's a bad video it's not that bad laugh
Sloppy recording of Chopin's 1st nocturne and a sloppy recording of Beethoven's 6th Sonata.

I'm really sorry about my horrible microphone. I used a computer mic on a really old laptop (bad soundcard).

My son's channel. All the recordings are pretty old, the Chopin Walz was recorded in May 2007, the Mozart Concerto in Dec. 2007 and the Bach prelude and fugue in Jan. 2008

Oh well, I had never undergone the recording process, but thanks to Improviso, he recorded me at the recent piano party in Richmond.

Here's the link: Mozart Sonata in C minor, K. 457 Allegro

The video starts when I've already gotten through the first page of the piece. Pardon the errors in a live performance.

Thanks, Peyton.

I seem to remember rather strategically getting up to play right after Bernard and Piano Again had finished entertaining. The room had mostly emptied. That likely contributed to calmness. laugh

Here I am using a technique of cycling through chords on a single melody note. Please notice that the melody note is an Ab and you are able to play a different chord for each of the 12 possible bass notes to give the music alot of color
