Just a suggestion here: visit the Piano Technician's Guild at www.ptg.org - within that site, you will likely find a chapter near your local area. The organization consists of a number of members who are piano technicians with integrity. It will be wise to consult with one or two or more - it can be a learning experience to say the least when you locate them and correspond a bit. You're likely to find someone who will gladly steer you in a good direction, particularly if you are considering a quality used piano. In addition, you're likely to get some advice regarding certain brands, etc. even if you are considering new.

You might try posting this under the Piano Forum instead of the Piano Teacher's forum. You're more likely to get some direction there.
