There are some good books out there--I'd ask my daughters' teacher what would work well with the skills they're working on just now. smile

James,

There are so many wonderful supplementary books out there, but without knowing what levels and ages your girls are, I hesitate to recommend any.

More info., like which method and what level they are would be enough to go on.

I have a 10 and 7 yr. My 10 yr old is on level 2 of ABRSM. She has played many xMas songs: Silent Night, Frosty, Deck the Hall and other pupular songs.

My 7 is in her 3 rd year at Yamaha. We do have some xMas books which are quite good at the time.

James,

Sorry for the delay in responding....I wanted to look through my files and give you my best choices, but I've been swamped! I'm heading out of town for a few days, so what I'll give you is off the top of my head.

There are some fun 5 finger-pattern popular books. Disney has several and I believe they are published by FJH. They come with great teacher/parent duets so that the piece sounds bigger than just the student part.

When I get home, I'll do better research and let you know what has been successful.

There are several great supplementary pieces for young students by Robert Vandall (Alfred), Melody Bober (FJH) and Jon George (Alfred - I think)

Good luck - I'll get back to you in a day or so.

Charlene
