Hello,
I just started teaching a 12 year old boy this past summer around July. ANyway, he is doing very well, he knows his notes and he just finished the first John Thompson book "Teaching Little Fingers To Play"
Should I continue with John Thompson or go on to a different book!?? Any suggestions would be great!!! Thanks!

VA/MD/England...long story...
I am not a professional teacher, but a Piano Pedagogy major, and I was started on "Teaching Little Fingers To Play". My teacher then moved me to the JT First Grade book. Looking back on it, I thought it was a smooth transition.

That's right...I have the same birthday as Mozart. If only it meant something and I could have one thousandth of his genius...in my dreams, i suppose.

Hi,
If you are going to become a piano teacher, it is a good idea to have at least three years of curriculum in mind and ready to go before you start taking money from people. Seek the advice of a professional in your area and pick your material that way. Then the completion of one book by a student doesn't leave you wondering to do next.
