OP ballad3 Full Member Joined: Jul 2004 Posts: 93 mississauga.ON	I've been playing for about 13 years now..and i'd like to start teaching. are there any strategies that i can use to 'attract' students? ~it is better not to vow than to make a vow and not fulfill it.

FallingLeaves Junior Member Joined: Sep 2004 Posts: 8 Brooklyn, NY	IMHO (as I am not a teacher, merely a student myself) Once you get a few students, curious parents will get your number sooner or later. I don't know if age is a factor for you... I went to a music camp and a couple of my friends were planning on teaching for some pocket money, but they were all high school students, and the age sterotype - the older, the better - is pretty hard to overcome. I know that a couple of piano teachers I know play in concerts, whether in their friends' recitals, or in libraries. I don't know if it's ever happened, but you can try that to maybe get your name around... Hope that wasn't a bunch of nonsense, and good luck! ^_^ Two roads diverged in a wood and I- I took the road less traveled by And that has made all the difference
