I've been looking at a 4' 10" baby grand Haines Brothers which I'm told, I do not know, in the 30's was a branch off from Chickering pianos. The bass strings & pins were replaced in the last year and the sound board is in good shape. And now I've recently seen a 4' 10" Hallet & Davis built in 1924 (serial# 111247) with complete interior rebuild, including hammer and strings.
They both appear to be in very good condtion. Not knowing much about antique pianos, baby grands, etc other than I've read in forums, I was hoping someone could shed a little light on which piano has better pedigre from these two reputable piano mnfrs.
Thank you,
Dan
