It would be nice to be able to print an entire (long) thread without having to go to each page.

Also, I think it would be nice to be able to read a long thread by scrolling the whole thing (rather than having to click on the next page).

Good idea!

Along similar lines, is there a way to print just one post out of an entire thread? For example, my computer keyboard has a "print screen" button but I can't figure out how to make it work. Or the print option for printing "current page" won't work when printing threads. Sometime I just want to print out one post and not an entire thread. Is there a way to do that?

Good idea again on the scrolling!

At the bottom of the page, to the left, just below the blue "New Topic" button is a link called "Printer-Friendly view of this topic.". Voila, you can read or print the entire thread without having to flip through pages.

"is there a way to print just one post out of an entire thread?"

Copy and paste the text over to your word processor and print it. You don't get the smiley's, but hey, nothing's perfect. smile

"my computer keyboard has a "print screen" button but I can't figure out how to make it work."

If you press Alt-PrintScreen, you'll be copying the current window to the clipboard. Just open a new document in Word, then Edit->Paste and the window will be pasted in as a graphic.

It got broken with some other changes we made a while ago.

I'm looking at a major upgrade to our forums software, which should include printer friendly and a number of other features.

NOT before I get back from NAMM in January though.

Hi there...can you point me to the instructions on how to print an entire thread? Also, how does one find an "archived thread"?

Thanks very much!

Phil

The only way I know you can get a whole thread is to email it (to yourself). When you use the email option at the bottom of a post window, you will be given several options, and the last one is "email entire thread".
Then you have it in an email and you can copy/edit it and print as you like.

We don't "archive" threads - They are either present in the forums or removed (usually due to violation of forum rules).

You can use the search feature, but actually doing a google search with PianoWorld Forums first will get you better results. The search feature in the forum isn't all that great.
