Something to look forward to this spring.

Before I left the show on Saturday I was speaking with Gary Burgett (CEO of Mason & Hamlin).
I mentioned again how much we enjoyed touring their facilities in Haverhill, MA.

He said they would be happy to host another Piano Forums Tour, and that he'd like to coordinate it so there is a CC available to us!

Now, before you get too excited...

It won't be until some time in the spring, and the tour group will have to be people who did not attend the last tour (unless we don't fill the group).

Just thought it might be something nice to keep in mind for when the snow goes away (here in the northeast).

Frank,

Sounds great to me, I was thinking of going up there on my own in the spring.

Please put my name on the list - Stevester.

Many thanks,
Steve

I've just scheduled the next recital date for April 30 (Saturday), in the afternoon. And there've been some private discussions with a couple of Massachusetts members about possibly organizing a PW Piano Party around that time, perhaps right after the recital. It might make a great "piano week-end" if the M&H tour and the recital+party activities can be scheduled together.

If I remember right, M&H only give tours on week days... so, perhaps something like:

FRIDAY April 29 - M&H tour
SATURDAY April 30 - Recital + Party

OR

SATURDAY April 30 - Recital + Party
MONDAY May 2 - M&H tour

smile

That would be fun, but I have to work with M&H based on their schedule. I think the CC's will be a rare bird for a while, so we have to catch it when they say we can.

Hmmmnn, this means I need to start practicing, doesn't it? I promised I'd play something for the next open stage (if you're having one again).

Though it looks like I'll be out of luck to visit the CC this time since I attended the last tour. wink

Although I'm probably relatively unknown amongst you guys due to my lack of frequent posting, I would love to be part of the tour... hope you guys don't mind! I'd have to ditch school for a day but who cares smile certainly not me! And the thought of the CC... *drools*

I'm guessing though that it would be accessible easily from NYC? Ah well, as the date gets nearer I can work things out.

Can you please put me on the list? laugh

Please keep in mind, there are still
people on an "alternates" list from the last tour.
Some of them actually made it to the last tour.
The others were promised first crack at the next tour.

Maybe if we ask really, really nicely, we could talk M&H into a spring and a fall tour:-)

Unless someone else wants to have a go at it, I would be happy to host a party once again.

e60m5, the factory is in Haverhill MA, north of Boston. Bernard came last time on the Fung Wah bus. I, myself, did the same for the NY party and you can't beat the price $15 one way!

And just because you can't go on the tour doesn't mean you can't come to the PW party! laugh

Frank---
Considering that I'll be 75 in May, plus the fact that I have been in the piano business since 1947----do you think a exception could be made in my case? (just kidding, would love to tour whenever. A wonderful and most generous experience provided by M&H). Would love to take Cecil up on the two piano invitation that I chickened out on!

Consider the exception made.
You better practice now for Cecil's invitation:-)
