After reviewing my collection of recipes I have decided upon the following;

"SPECIAL" chicken recipe w/side of rice (found this delicious chicken recipe in the "What are you having for dinner tonight" selections and it has become a favorite with family/friends)

Large pot of vegetarian soup with pasta; served with pesto and grated romano cheese.

Steve (DH) will prepare a large crockpot of chili; served with sour cream, tortilla chips and shredded mozzarella cheese.

I will start organizing tomorrow, since I have the day off, and will take care of tablecloths, paper products etc.

I would be very happy to consume only cheesecake though... !!! smile

BeeLady,

Its a shame. We have what must be a 20lb Easter Bunny that stands over 2 feet tall for my other halves Easter party. Unfortunately, that would be May 1st.

Ask me what we'll do with it all, and I don't know...

Can somebody repeat the schedule for April 30. Sorry, I couldn't find it in this thread. What time at Larry's? What was taking place beforehand?

TIA,
Chris

Chris, If you find an Axtremus post with his signature block, or the following website, it describes the recital preceding the "social" which Terry talks about in the first post on page one of this thread. I believe the social time is dependent on the completion of the recital. I hope I'm not giving false information. Somebody please correct me if I am.

www.PianoRecital.org - Recital in Westford, MA with "Open Stage" on April 30.

leebea you are right on the money.

I have been figuring we would be in or on our way to Lowell from the recital by 5. That sound realistic?

Good Morning Everyone.

BeeLady, I have been planning on 5 for people to begin arriving.

I will be up to the shop early in the day getting things ready so that I can be at the recital.

Terry has offered to come up and help get things ready. Thank You Terry, I accept. I'll get you the table measurements over this weekend.

Since a few of us attending this gathering have visited the Frederick's piano study/collection, I extended an invitation requesting they join us on April 30th. I received the following reply from Patricia today.

Theresa -
Thanks for the invitation! However, we have a field trip tentatively
scheduled for the 30th; we are just waiting for the teacher to get back
to us to confirm that the date is good for her students.

We wish you a lovely day on the 30th. Please say "Hi" to all the
members
who have visited here, and extend our cordial invitation to those who
have not, or who would like to come again.

All best wishes,
Edmund and Patricia Frederick

I will bring a can of coffee, half&half, sugar and teabags.

Bee... I have a short list of food contributions!! I will do my food prep on Friday.
This weekend I am working on our designer tablecloths!! smile

Larry, what is the name of the grocery store off the Plain St exit? Perhaps some members/guests might be interested in picking up a food contribution from the supermarket before joining us at Larry's shop.

I surrender my kitchen to you, Bernard! (Guess that means I better get going clearing off the counters! whome )

We'll be shoulder to shoulder as I plan to make a veggie lasagne.

Does Preston do dishes? laugh And, more importantly, does he play the piano?

I think I should consider renaming this thread. Maybe a better title would be: How many posts do you need to have a gathering/party!!

Less than one week to go, folks!! If you would like to consider bringing a food/beverage here are some "suggestions":

tonic/soda
potato salad
pasta salad
cold cuts/rolls
cheese/crackers/dip
veggie tray
beer/wine... Larry, is this allowed???!!!!

Please keep in mind the above list is a suggestion. If there is a "special" dish you would prefer to share, by all means bring it along and don't forget to either mention it here or send me a PM. (thanks) smile

Lovely! Terrytunes, I'll make a potato salad.

BeeLady, thank you thank you thank you. Preston made a wonderful pineapple-upsidedown cake last Christmas (yummie, yummie, calorie, calorie! laugh ). I'll broach the matter with him, but for now I'll only guarantee (egads, I hate that word) the potato salad. (Maybe I can get him to whip up a "King For A Day Hot Crabmeat Appetizer Dip", YUM.)

He does not play piano; His art is fashion.

Just wondering... I'm afraid to look at previous posts to see if it's been posted for fear of losing my message... does the party venue have a microwave or oven?

I'll plan on bringing an ambrosia. It can either be a salad, or a dessert.

Looking forward to meeting all of you.

Take the tonic/soda off the list. I have contacted Terry and volunteered to bring it. I'll bring Coke, Diet Coke, Ginger Ale, 7 Up or Sprite and Diet 7 Up or Diet Sprite. Kim said she'd add a couple of gallons of water too. If anybody would like me to add something to the list, I would be happy to do so. Just add a post or PM me.

Just a comment on Alcohol,

I have no problem with having it there.

I only ask that everyone be responsible with it.

Personally, I will be having a glass of fine cabernet myself.
