Benita Meshulam will be performing in the opening concert on Sunday, 31st August.

Presenting "Chopin and Spain". Three sonatas by Scarlatti; four pieces from Iberia by Albéniz; a Chopin Mazurka and an Impromptu; and Manuel de Falla's Fantasía Bética performed on the 1877 Erard

Hope to see some of our local members in attendance. wink

Benita's performance was wonderful although I listened in on some conversation around the piano after her performance by a couple of guests who felt the piano she had chosen was not suitable for her musical selection and therefore did not bring out the true musical tones.

I did manage to catch a few seconds of John Citron playing after the concert.

Many thanks to Bonita for a truly enjoyable performance.

The second concert of the fall season will be presented at the Frederick Historical Concert series tomorrow, Sunday 14thSept at 4pm.

If you're visiting or happen to be in the central MA area, here's an opportunity to enjoy hearing two pianos from the collection: 1795 and early 1800\'s.

Come and be part of a musical experience that will comfort and refresh your spirit! (and for only $10!!!) thumb

Today's concert featuring Cullan Bryant and Dmitry Rachmanov performing the first half of their duet program on the unnamed Viennese c 1795 (on left in pic) and the Caspar Katholnig, c. 1805-1810, Vienna for the 2nd half of their duet performance.

John Citron and I tried out the balcony seats for the 2nd half of the performance. I think we both pretty much agreed the acoustics and viewing of the performance was top rate!

I believe Pat Frederick mentioned this was the first all duet performance in the 24 years of concerts her and Michael have hosted.

What a truly wonderful experience. Musical bliss on a Sunday afternoon in Ashburnham MA. I felt extremely fortunate to have been in attendance for this captivating performance.

I have received permission from both Cullan Bryant and Dmitry Rachmanov allowing 2 short clips from their 14thSept performance.

I considered not showing these clips due to the poor timing in starting and ending the piece being played, plus, lack of experience on my part and use of a low quality digital camera.

Hopefully with time and experience I'll be able to present better quality clips on future performances.

Just a reminder for those capable of attending the Frederick Historic Concert ;
the next concert will be held tomorrow Sunday, Oct 12th at 4pm.

With the height of the foliage season upon us and no rain in the forecast, I'm looking forward to a scenic drive out to Ashburnham.
